Signing day Athletes from sports other than football will set their futures in motion today by signing national letters of intent. One of the most interesting stories is St. Petersburg tennis star Lindsey Dvoraksigning with Tulane, which is fielding a tennis team for the first time since Hurricane Katrina.
Here are some others in the county who are signing today:
Baseball
Dunedin - Jake Rogers UCF, Clay Kollenbaum (Jacksonville), Max Krueter (Tampa)
Boys basketball
Clearwater - Luke Loucks (FSU), Adam Pegg (Delaware)
Golf
East Lake - Whitney Wenglasz (FSU)
Soccer
Seminole -Sebastian Thuriere (USF); St. Petersburg - Andrea Rodrigues (UCF), Tabitha Schofield (USF)
Volleyball
Clearwater - Channing Salava (Belmont); East Lake - Sara Rex (Florida Gulf Coast); Indian Rocks Christian - Brianne Yeates (Tampa)
Nalley commits
East Lake junior Alicia Nalley took the anticipation regarding her college future out of the way early, announcing her commitment to Florida on Tuesday.
"I've always wanted to be a Gator," Nalley said. "They have a great team and a great school. How could I pass it up?"
Nalley chose the Gators over USF, UCF and Florida Gulf Coast.
