Suncoast Elementary School: The PTA board will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Media Center.
D.S. Parrott Middle School: The Advisory Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 26 in the Media Center.
- Nov. 30 is Red Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear red in honor of veterans and in support of those serving in the military.
- A Breakfast of Champions honors assembly will be at 8:15 a.m. today.
Brooksville Elementary School: The annual Salvation Army Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Drive runs through Dec. 14. Classes will collect nonperishable food to help those in need. The class that collects the most food in each grade level will win a pizza party.
- The Third Grade's Showcase & Vocabulary "Make & Take" will be at 6 tonight in the Media Center. Families can participate in special vocabulary "Make & Take" activities. FCAT information will be available, and teachers will be on hand to answer questions.
- Family Fun Science Night will be 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 29 in the cafeteria.
Suncoast Elementary School: Mid-term progress reports will be distributed Dec. 3.
- Washington Mutual Savings Deposit Day will be Dec. 7.
- Second grade will go to Springstead High School to see High School Musical Dec. 12.
- PTA Market Day pick-up will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Dec. 13 in the cafeteria. PTA's Winter Wonderland/Holiday House will be 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 14 in the cafeteria.
- The school Student Advisory Council will meet at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Media Center.
Pine Grove Elementary: The School Advisory Council will meet at 3:45 p.m. today in Room 800.
- Family Literacy Accelerated Reader Night is 7 tonight in the Media Center.
- The Title I Committee meets at 8 a.m. Friday in the Media Center.
- First Grade Parent Night is at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 in the cafeteria.
- The Cafe PTA movie night is 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the back field.
Fox Chapel Middle: The Bear Team will host its "Show What You Know Night" from 6 to 7 tonight in the Tiger Cafe. The theme will be "United We Stand," and parents will interact with their children during this student-led conference.
Wider Horizons School: Intermediate elementary students attended the Florida Native American Indian Society Pow Wow in Dade City on Oct. 26 at the Withlacoochee River Park and included crafts, singing, dancing, drumming, singing and story telling.The children were treated to stories and were introduced to some dances.
Challenger K8: Parent orientation meetings have been set for potential enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year. Parents who submit applications for the first time must attend one of these orientations, and applications will be collected at the meetings. Meetings will be at 5 and 6 p.m. Nov. 26. Doors will be closed 10 minutes into each meeting.
Required information: child's student (lunch) number, name of current school and zoned school (for fifth-graders the zoned school is the one they will attend as sixth-graders). Parents who have children on the waiting list must submit a new application, but need not attend an orientation.
Application cards and portfolio packets are available in the front office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Call 797-7024.
