DADE CITY - Land O'Lakes was impressive in its season-opening win over Tampa Prep.
But it seems that one more game was all it took to show the Gators' dominance as a Pasco girls basketball power as they defeated Pasco 59-27 Wednesday.
The Pirates made things interesting early and were within four after the first quarter. But Land O'Lakes proved to be too much, as the Gators (2-0) outscored the Pirates 46-8 the rest of the way.
Florida State signee Kayli Keough scored 16 on 6-of-10 from the field and scored nine of her 16 in the first quarter. Land O'Lakes also got a solid game from Kayli's sister, Meghan Keough (17 points) and good point guard play from freshman starter Kaitlynn Pacholke (eight).
"At spurts she plays like a freshman, but on the same note there are spurts where she plays like she has been playing the varsity level for a while," coach Laurie Pacholke said.
Land O'Lakes' next game is Wednesday against Wiregrass Ranch. Pasco (0-2) travels to play Springstead on Wednesday night.
