TAMPA - Hillsborough County Attorney Renee Lee said Thursday she has hired an outside lawyer to look into sexual discrimination claims leveled at Commissioner Kevin White by a former aide. Lee said she hired Claire Saady, with the Tampa firm of Saady & Saxe, to investigate the allegations. The firm has experience in labor and employment law. "I represent the county as a whole," Lee said. "This involves a commissioner I report to. I just thought it was necessary to add some impartiality to it as well as to make sure it was handled with the utmost care." Alyssa Ogden, the former aide whom White fired Friday, claims she was dismissed because she rejected multiple sexual advances by the commissioner. She has filed a discrimination claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. White has said Ogden is a disgruntled employee whom he fired because she could not do the job and didn't work to improve her performance.
