Check out trees, have breakfast with Santa

CLEARWATER

The 23rd annual Festival of Trees "Home for the Holidays," will be open to the public from Wednesday through Nov. 25 at the Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland St., Clearwater. The adult admission is $8; seniors age 62 and older $6; youths age 3 to 16 $4 and children age 2 and younger free. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday ; 2 to 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24 and noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 25. A Santa's breakfast from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24 is $12 a person and includes festival admission. For more information, call the foundation at 727 797-8712 or visit www.treefest.com.

File of life alerts medical personnel

The City of Clearwater's Office on Aging, Clearwater Fire & Rescue and the Clearwater Police Department are offering seniors age 60 and older a File of Life form for important medical information. The information is placed in a magnetic envelope and stuck on a refrigerator door. An accompanying sticker is placed on or near the participant's front door to alert medical personnel that the File of Life is available. Should there be an emergency with no one to speak for the participant, rescue personnel can check the file for information needed to begin treatment.

Herbal vinegar topic of workshop

PALM HARBOR

Donate a present for abuse victims

Visit the Palm Harbor Library to make the holiday a little brighter for victims of domestic abuse. The library has set up a giving tree in the lobby, which is covered with paper ornaments holding children's wish lists. All gifts will be donated to the Haven of Religious Community Services. All unwrapped gifts must be brought to the library by Dec. 19. Financial contributions are also accepted. For further details, contact the Youth Services Department at (727) 784-3332, ext. 206.
