Dixie Hollins girls basketball hangs on

Dixie Hollins 44, Northeast 29
The Rebels didn't score a field goal in the fourth quarter, but thanks to some sharp free-throw shooting, they didn't have to. Dixie Hollins was 12-of-12 from the free-throw line.
"I didn't even realize it until after the game because we kept scoring points," Rebels coach Dave Morgen said. "They kept fouling us, but we kept making them."
Jessica Crandle (16 points) and Tori Robison (14) led the Rebels in scoring and went a combined 10-of-10 from the line. Dixie Hollins' Brittany Kirkland and Robison finished with seven rebounds apiece, and Northeast was led by Ayanna Reinz's 12 points.
- Out-of-Door Academy 45, Canterbury 26
The Crusaders fell behind early 20-0 and couldn't close the gap, losing to visiting Out-of-Door.
"They jumped out to a big lead, and we dug ourselves a pretty big hole," Canterbury coach Dave Sukeena said. "In the second half, our defense was awesome once we settled down."
Canterbury's Sophia Camp finished with 14 points, Catherine Jones had four and Janki Patel five. The Crusaders host Bayshore Christian at 6:30 tonight.
- Tarpon Springs 52, East Lake 33
The Spongers got their first win of the season behind a huge night from Alli Corbett, who poured in 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. East Lake tried to press Tarpon Springs, but the Spongers had little trouble breaking it down.
"I had my point guard who graduated last year at the game and she told me that was the best passing she's seen in five years," Tarpon Springs coach Dennis Mentall said. "We were able to work the ball around well, and it feels good to get that first win."
East Lake was led by Miracle Anderson's 10 points. The Spongers next play Dunedin on Nov. 26, followed by Pinellas Park on the 29th.
- Dunedin 59, Palm Harbor U. 48
Dunedin used eight 3-pointers and a 15-4 second quarter to hold off the Hurricanes. The Falcons finished with eight 3-pointers. PHU was led by 23 points and nine rebounds from Sameerah Jones, and teammate Sharee Booze chipped in with 10 points and seven boards.
- Admiral Farragut 31, Lakeside Christian 27
The Blue Jackets built a seven-point halftime lead and held off Lakeside. Taylor Irwin led the way for the blue jackets with 16 points and seven rebounds, and teammate April Musser added six boards. Lakeside Christian's Laura Dugan finished with a team-high 10 points.
- Largo 64, Pinellas Park 49
The Packers took a 16-6 first-quarter lead and cruised from there behind Egypt Thomas' second consecutive 33-point outing. Teammate Courtney Bell added 19, and Pinellas Park was paced by Kaana Hadly's 11 and Alexus Ward's 10.

The Marauders scored one in the first half and added a pair after the break to improve to 5-0. Morgan Kimsey, Kelly Campbell and Madison Hanson all scored for CCC, which hosts Lakewood Ranch on Tuesday before beginning play in the Puma Challenge Thanksgiving weekend.

The Warhawks improved to 4-0 behind a pair of second-half goals from Noel Forsman and Sierra Lelli.
Boys soccer
Shorecrest 6, Northside Christian 3
The Chargers kept their record perfect on the young season (3-0) thanks to four goals from Phil Vestergaard. Stephen Spanos and Anthony Harris scored for Shorecrest, which next faces Keswick Christian on Nov. 27 in a district match.

We need to hear more about Courtney Bell at Largo High. Outstanding basketball player, strong & athletic. She is one of the biggest reasons that program placed 3rd at States 2 yrs ago. She tore her ACL at AAU Nat'ls and has never missed a game
