FSU (6-4, 3-4 ACC) vs. Maryland (5-5, 2-4), noon

The Terrapins never have won in Tallahassee and must do so today or at N.C. State on Nov. 24 to become bowl eligible. They are fresh off a42-35 win against then-No. 8 Boston College, their second win against a team ranked in the Top 10 at the time (34-24 at No. 10 Rutgers on Sept. 29). Senior Lance Ball become the first to surpass 100 rushing yards (109) against BC, which was the nation's top run defense. And sophomore Chris Turner rebounded from a mediocre outing (20-of-36, 209 yards, no touchdowns, one interception in a 16-13 loss to North Carolina) to complete 21 of 27 passes for career highs of 337 yards and three touchdowns. Both came despite a patchwork line. Defensively, junior linebacker Erin Henderson leads the nation in tackles (12.4 a game). And look out for two bay area products, senior linebacker Jermaine Lemons (Jefferson High) and sophomore free safety Terrell Skinner (Boca Ciega). Said FSU coach Bobby Bowden of his counterpart, Ralph Friedgen: "Is there a better offensive mind in college football than him? He'll pick you to death. You better not have any flaws."
