Hernando County Green Party to show "In Debt We Trust ... America Before the Bubble Bursts": 6 p.m., Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. This film was researched by Emmy-winning journalist Danny Schechter, the "news dissector" from ABC News and CNN. The film shows how big banks and credit card companies "buy" Congress and are driving the United States into "modern serfdom." Loomis Brothers Circus at fairgrounds: Two shows, 5 and 7:30 p.m., Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St., Brooksville. This is a three-ring circus with elephants, tigers, lions, clowns, acrobats, aerialists, jugglers, trapeze and other acts. Doors open one hour before showtime. In addition to the show, there will be elephant rides, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn and soft drinks. Proceeds from the circus will benefit the Florida International Teaching Zoo. Tickets are $12 per adult, which includes admission for two children 12 and younger; additional children are $5 each. 796-4552.

The exhibit, made available by the Museum of Florida History, presents an overview of this time in Florida history. Topic areas include the home front, military training in Florida, the German U-boat threat and Floridians in military service. The exhibit will be on display through January.
