Arabian horses to prance into fairgrounds
Practice saying "ooh" and then make your way to the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa for the Arabian Horse Association of Florida's annual show. Look for Arabian, half-Arabian and show horses from throughout the country. The event, free for spectators, takes place Wednesday through Saturday at the fairgrounds' Bob Thomas Equestrian Center. Even the parking is free. Visitors should enter the fairgrounds through the Orient Road entrance. For more information, see www.ahafl.org.

Bluegrass for you to digest later
Once you've stuffed yourself with turkey, you can get your fill this weekend of bluegrass music. The annual Thanksgiving Weekend Bluegrass Festival will be held at Sertoma Youth Ranch, 85 Myers Road (take Exit 293 off Interstate 75 and go east on County Road 41 and north on Clay Hill Road). Hours are 3:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday ($8 adult, $3 ages 12-16, free younger than 12); noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday ($25); and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday ($12). Weekend, $45 at the gate. Rain or shine, no refunds. Electric hookups for camping available; hot showers, indoor restrooms. Pets on leash only. Food concessions all weekend. The 29th annual Times Turkey Trot is expected to draw the usual kaleidoscope of humanity - including, maybe, that guy who runs the 10K while carrying a frozen turkey - to Jack White Stadium at Clearwater High School on Thanksgiving Day. The 5K Wingding starts at 7:30 a.m., the 1-mile Gobbler at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K Turkey Trot at 8:45 a.m. Information: www.tampabay.com/turkeytrtot.
