A global christmas takes shape

BROOKSVILLE
The Jerome Brown Community Center will host the Christmas Around the World cultural event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15 at the center, 99 Jerome Brown Place, off Darby Lane. Booths representing different countries will be set up, offering information on when and how Christmas is celebrated, traditions, how to say "Merry Christmas" in that country's language, what the weather is like during the Christmas holiday, the country's flag, a map of the country and other information. Clubs and individuals from as many countries as possible are being sought to participate in this event. Tables and chairs will be provided. Those interested are asked to reserve a booth as soon as possible. Call JoAnn Munford at 544-5498.
Free dinner to be thankful for
Seven Sistaz Inc. of Spring Hill will host a free Thanksgiving dinner from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Community Activity Center at 205 E Fort Dade Ave. The event is for homeless and disadvantaged youth and families in the Brooksville/Spring Hill area. Hot meals will be served. Seven Sistaz is a new grass roots nonprofit whose goal is to help where help is needed. Call 200-8560.
Festival of Trees displays gifts
The Brooksville Woman's Club Festival of Trees is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd. Nonprofit groups will display decorated trees. This is an indoor event that will include crafts, plants, baked goods, cookbooks, Christmas cards and tags, Avon, Home Interiors, Home and Garden and other vendors. SPRING HILL
Dinner at church, or delivered free
Thanksgiving dinner will be served at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Thursday in Xavier Hall, 5030 Mariner Blvd. Anyone who cannot make the free dinner can have dinner delivered to their door at no cost. For information or to have meals delivered to homes, call 683-9666.
