ST. PETERSBURG Dessert's on the house at antique marketplace Looking for an escape from football, the family or the dishes on Thanksgiving Day? Or just want to get a jump on holiday shopping? The Central Avenue Antique Marketplace will be open Thanksgiving from 4-9 p.m. and will provide complimentary dessert and coffee or Alka-Seltzer - whichever is desired, or needed. Located at 2541 Central Ave., the Central Avenue Antique Marketplace has more than 3,000 square-feet of antique jewelry, art, pottery, furniture and other unusual holiday gifts. All estate jewelry will be on sale. The preholiday shopping sale also features famous American pottery such as Hall, Roseville and Weller, and a wide variety of art including signed oils, watercolors and prints. The Central Avenue Antique Marketplace is open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. ST. PETERSBURG Pedal off the feast's pounds on your bike Area bicyclists are invited to join the annual free Thanksgiving Day Bicycle Ride. Enjoy a healthy ride while making new friends. There will be ride groups with speeds for everyone, including couch potatoes and desk jockeys. If you'd rather talk than bicycle, ask for the Gib's Ride Group. Faster riders can choose from the Casual 16s and Mass Start groups. Riders start at 8:30 a.m. Thursday with most rides ending at 10 a.m. The rides begin at the North Shore Pool parking lot at North Shore Drive NE and Ninth Avenue NE. Riders must wear helmets and are encouraged to bring a spare tube; help will be available if you get a flat. Minors are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
