Gallery hosts fundraiser, shows off renovations

Tribu de Sol, a gallery of decorator items for the home and office, celebrates its grand reopening and renovation this weekend by hosting an event to raise money and awareness for Creative Clay, a cultural arts center making the arts accessible to people with disabilities.

On Friday and Saturday Tribu de Sol will unveil renovations to its garden.

The event will include food, children's activities, entertainment, artists signing their work, Creative Clay products for sale, prizes, raffles, and more.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Creative Clay.

Motorcycle Toy Run takes place Sunday

The Elks West Central District is sponsoring a "Motorcycle Toy Run" for military families and special needs children Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.

The Run will start at the Egypt Shriners, 4050 Dana Shores, in Tampa, and end at Quaker Steak & Lube, 10400 49th St. N., in Pinellas Park.

Sample chili at cookoff in Grand Central District

The Grand Central Business District will have its third annual chili cookoff from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Stroll from chef to chef and sample chili recipes. For details call 328-7086.


Donations needed to feed homeless

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of South Pinellas, 384 15th St. N, asks for your donations to help feed the hungry and homeless on Thanksgiving. .The holiday needs include frozen turkeys, stuffing mix, cans of cranberry sauce, packaged or jarred gravy, whole or sliced white potatoes, mixed vegetables, and apple and pumpkin pies. Donations may be delivered to the food center's kitchen on Fourth Avenue N and 15th Street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center also needs gently used, clean blankets. Play helps childrenlearn about their bodies

All Children's Hospital will present What's So Good About Feeling Bad?, a play for kids about the human body and how it fights to keep kids healthy, at 11 a.m. Nov. 27, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, Jan. 9, Feb. 27, March 26, April 9, April 23 and May 7 at All Children's Hospital Education and Conference Center, 701 Fourth St. S. Each character represents a body system and will be portrayed by a hospital employee. The production includes comedic sketches, musical numbers and a health- related game show. Play dates fill quickly.
