Hernando High School: The School Advisory Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in the main office. For more information, please contact Tyna Soloman at 797-7015, ext. 406.
- Hernando High School's Band will perform its holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 in the auditorium. For more information, contact Joseph Harrin at 797-7015, ext. 223.
Springstead High School: The School Advisory Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Media Center.
Spring Hill Elementary School: The School Advisory Council will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Media Center.
West Hernando Middle School: The School Advisory Council, Title I and PTSA will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the Media Center. All students and parents are invited to come.
- The Holiday Concert will be from 7-8 p.m. Dec. 13.
Suncoast Elementary School: The PTA board will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 in the Media Center.
- The PTA will hold its Winter Wonderland/Holiday House from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 14 in the cafeteria.
- The School Advisory Council will meet at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Media Center.
Pine Grove Elementary: First Grade Parent Night will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria.
- The Cafe PTA movie night will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the back field.
D.S. Parrott Middle School: The School Advisory Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Media Center.
- Nov. 30 is Red Shirt Day. Students are encouraged to wear red in honor of veterans and in support of those serving in the military.
Brooksville Elementary School: The annual Salvation Army Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Drive runs through Dec. 14. Classes will collect nonperishable food to help those in need. The class that collects the most food in each grade level will win a pizza party.
- Family Fun Science Night will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 29 in the cafeteria.
Chocachatti Elementary School: Orientation meeting for potential enrollment at 7 p.m. Jan. 10. Students must attend if they missed the previous meetings; if a student has attended an orientation or is on this year's waiting list, he or she must reapply for next year. Applications are available at the school's office until Jan. 10.
Students will be selected through auditions or portfolio processes. Students with special talents in art, music, theater (drama) or dance can submit an audition or portfolio to be considered for admittance. For details and requirements, visit the school from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information will also be available at the required orientation meetings. Audition tapes and portfolios are due no later than Dec. 3. For information, call 797-7067.
Challenger K8: Parent orientation meetings for potential enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year. Parents, who submit applications for the first time, must attend one of these orientations and applications will be collected at the meetings' ends. Meetings will be at 5 and 6 p.m. Monday. Doors will be closed 10 minutes into each meeting.
Required information: child's student (lunch) number, name of current school and zoned school (for fifth-graders the zoned school is the one they will attend as sixth-graders). Parents with children on the waiting list must submit a new application but need not attend an orientation.
Application cards and portfolio packets are available in the front office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Deadline is 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Call 797-7024.
