TAMPA - Sheriff's deputies used a Taser on Thursday to subdue a man accused of snorting cocaine and barricading himself in a room with his girlfriend and their 16-month-old child. Clarence McDonald, 33, of 12509 Tinsley Circle, No. 204, remained at the Orient Road jail with no bail set Thursday. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office charged him with two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of domestic violence, child abuse and two counts of obstructing or opposing an officer with violence. An arrest report says that deputies had to force their way into a bedroom to reach the victims. McDonald shielded himself from deputies with his infant son behind a door, the report said. Deputies managed to take the infant when McDonald tried to retreat to a bathroom. After "multiple deployments" of Tasers and no response from McDonald, the arrest report said, he was apprehended. McDonald was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries before being jailed.
