Challenger K-8 school plans parent meetings

SPRING HILL

Challenger K-8 School of Science and Mathematics will conduct two orientation meetings at 5 and 6 p.m. Monday for parents who want to enroll their children for the 2008-09 school year. Doors will be closed 10 minutes after each meeting begins, and no one will be admitted after that time. Parents who want to submit a first-time application for enrollment must attend one of these meetings and turn in the application at the end of the meeting. Those who have a child on the waiting list do not have to attend, but must submit a new application card. Portfolios and application cards will be due back to Challenger no later than 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7. The school is at 13400 Elgin Blvd. Call 797-7024.

Get Regency Oakstickets by Monday

Monday is the last day to purchase tickets to Regency Oaks Community Association's holiday cocktail party, which will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the clubhouse, 4445 Breakwater Blvd. Music will be provided by DJ Rich "the Hit Man." Symphony sets holiday concerts

The Hernando Symphony Orchestra will present its holiday concert series, "Where Is Christmas?" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hernando Performing Arts Center, 700 Bell Ave., Brooksville, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Springstead Theatre, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.
