Eight inmates brawl at jail, injuring two

LAND O'LAKES An argument over the TV set in a housing pod at the jail in Land O'Lakes landed two inmates in the hospital, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. The brawl happened at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and at least eight inmates were involved. Donald Royal, 34, in jail on charges of violating his aggravated battery probation, sustained cuts and bruises. He was treated and released back to the jail Friday. Eli Alvarez, 27, jailed on a DUI manslaughter charge, had head trauma but was expected to be released soon, said spokesman Kevin Doll. The fight was still under investigation Saturday.
