CLEARWATER - Prior to Saturday's action at the Puma Challenge, Lincoln High of Tallahassee was sporting a 5-0-3 record.

But then along came the Hurricanes from Palm Harbor University.

Early in the day Palm Harbor blanked Lincoln 4-0 in a bracket crossover game, and then the two schools met again in the evening for one of two bracket championship games.

The Hurricanes won again, this time 3-0.

"Lincoln was a great team, but our boys stepped up to the challenge," Palm Harbor coach Alex Delgado said. "It's hard beating a team once, let alone twice in one day."

In the championship game, Michael Addonisio scored his first goal of the season, and Zac Daulton scored his second goal of the season. The Hurricanes (5-0-1) were up 2-0 at the half.

In the second half, Ishmail Kamara kicked in his fifth goal of the season to end the scoring.

Kamara and Brad Salemi both had assists in the game, and goalkeeper Max Gallin posted his fourth win of the tournament. He allowed just two goals during the challenge.

In the other bracket championship game, Gaither (7-0-1) fell behind 1-0 to Fletcher of Neptune Beach (7-1), but was able to string together a couple of goals and finish with a 2-1 victory.

"At the beginning of the game they gave us a lot of trouble," said coach Eric Sims. "We made some adjustments, and it all worked out."

Cabe Nolan scored to give Fletcher its 1-0 lead, but Gaither's Bruno Bustamante tied the game by halftime. In the second half, Jordan See netted the winner for the Cowboys, who finished the tournament 3-0.
