Holiday Tree Lighting in Wesley Chapel
The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce will have a Holiday Tree Lighting from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Wesley Chapel District Park on Boyette Road. There will be snacks and drinks, children's choirs, a children's parade, bands, games for the family and the lighting of the tree. This event is free and the community is invited. Seniors can get HELP with legal matters
Helping the Elderly with Legal Problems (HELP) offers legal assistance to people 60 and older who are residents of Pasco County. One half-hour appointments begin at 1 p.m. on these dates and locations: Dec. 13 and Dec. 27 at CARES Claude Pepper Senior Center, 6640 Van Buren St., New Port Richey. Hudson church starts toy and gift drive
St. Martin's Episcopal Church, at 15801 U.S. 19 in Hudson, will begin the Advent Season by collecting toys to be given to local agencies for families in need at Christmas. The annual Toy Sunday is Sunday. The toys and other gift items will be distributed in time for Christmas. This program is part of the outreach program of the parish, which serves 20 local agencies. Free 'Walk Through Bethlehem' at church
The 12th-annual presentation of the "Walk Through Bethlehem" at Richland Baptist Church happens from 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8 and from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9. Starting with the Census Taker, visitors will be taken on a journey back in time as groups of approximately 10 people are taken on a guided tour through a re-creation of first century Bethlehem.
The reconstructed city will be much as it would have been at the time of the birth of Jesus. City people of all ages, shopkeepers, Roman guards and animals will be a part of the city. As visitors of Walk Through Bethlehem, they will listen to the conversations between their guide and the city's inhabitants as the story of the birth of Jesus is told. The stable is not where the tour ends; the group also will visit the crucifixion scene and the empty tomb.

High school presents family drama Dec. 7-8
The Land O'Lakes High School Theater Department will present Reginald Rose's family drama The Death and Life of Larry Benson, at 7 p.m. Dec. 7-8 in the Mini-Theater at the Land O'Lakes High School campus. The thespians also will perform matinees for the student body on Dec. 4 and 6. Sarah Adams, Craig Lawson, Ashley Goltermann, and Nathan Graves star. The supporting cast includes Jean Kok, Mimi Mubaidin, Amanda Miley, Kristina Alvarez, Jake Nutting, Katie Lee Meusling, Lauren Parater, Evan Hegarty and Jeff Ferris. Ramona Quave is the director and Amanda Miley is the student director. Crew members include Trixx Martinez, Sean Peters, Leslie Rosado, Casey Wrona, and Shawn Lawson.
Rotary clubs stage fundraiser for sisters
The Rotary Clubs of San Antonio and Land O'Lakes will present Artists for Humanity in a concert performance featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. All proceeds from the event will benefit Carlie and Lily Grimes, who are fighting brain cancer. The event will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the San Antonio Community Church, 31251 State Road 52. Woman's Club puts on arts, crafts festival
The GFWC Lutz/Land O'Lakes Woman's Club will sponsor the second largest Arts & Crafts Festival in Hillsborough County. The 28th annual festival will be at Lake Park, 17302 N Dale Mabry Highway, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event features 250 vendors and artists from all over the area, along with a variety of food vendors. The festival is sponsored by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, the Tampa Tribune and assisted by Boy Scout Troop 12 of Lutz and the Lutz Civil Air Patrol.
