The St. Petersburg city league wrapped up its fall season with singles winners named in three women's divisions and eight men's.

The flex singles league includes a match each week for the competitors. The two opponents are then able to schedule their match at one another's convenience.

"That's one of the things I really like about the league is its flexibility in scheduling," said Kent Gilmour, the A-3 winner. "Everybody's pretty easygoing, so it's easy setting up matches."

Gilmour, who has played in the city league off and on during the last 10 years, posted a 7-0 record to claim his title.

Others who won were Pipe Douangboupha, who was unbeaten in 10 matches to claim the A-1 title, and Stefan Frisch, who went 7-1 for the A-2 crown.

Toby Wright had dropped out of playing in the city league until recently, and when he returned, he won the B-2 with an 8-1 record.

Wright's only loss came from Joe Gillette. After losing early in the season to Gillette with a 3-6, 6-3 8-6 score, Wright finished the season with a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win.

Other B division winners were Craig Brown (9-0) in B-1, Nathan Holt (5-1) in B-3 and Antonio Young (9-1) in B-4.

In women's competition, Lisa Hilbert won the A division with just one loss, Vicki Quintana took B-1 with an 8-0 record, and Elena Cano won B-2 with a 10-0 record.

The next city league begins in January. For details, call director Sue DeLong at 893-7755.
