Tree lighting and concert planned

Church by the Sea, 495 137th Ave., Madeira Beach, will hold its annual Christmas tree lighting with Christmas carols at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Buddhists seek 'the Santa Claus within'

The Parbawatiya Buddhist Center will hold a Buddhist meditation evening 8 to 9:15 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Living Room Yoga, 1608 29th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, with Angus Berry.

The class, Finding the Santa Claus Within, will present an introduction to meditation from the Kadampa Buddhist tradition. It will include two guided meditations and a short talk.

ST. PETERSBURG

College, church choirs join for winter festival

The choirs of St. Petersburg College and Christ United Methodist Churchwill offer their 16th annual Winter Choral Festival at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ United Methodist Church, 467 First Ave. N, St. Petersburg.

The program will feature more than 160 voices, a pipe organ, brass, timpani and hand bells.

There also will be an audience carols sing-along and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah. Freewill offering.
