Body believed to be student who did porn online

EL DORADO, Kan.

A body found in Kansas appears to be that of a missing college student who led a secret life as an Internet porn performer, police said Thursday. Authorities said the preliminary physical description of the body found about 50 miles east of El Dorado matches that of missing college student Emily Sander. Sander's case drew wide attention after it was revealed that she appeared nude on a popular adult Web site under the name Zoey Zane.

Boyfriend charged in miscarriages

Authorities charged a married man Thursday with slipping his girlfriend an abortion drug that caused her to miscarry twice. Manishkumar Patel, 34, of Appleton was charged with seven felonies and two misdemeanors, including attempted first-degree murder of an unborn child, stalking, burglary and two counts of violating a restraining order. Patel and his girlfriend, 39-year-old family physician Darshana Patel, have a 3-year-old child together, authorities said. They are not related; Patel is a common Indian last name.

Bad food killed 347 pets, study finds

More than 300 dogs and cats may have died this year as a result of eating contaminated pet food, a survey released Thursday shows. There were no accurate counts earlier on how many pets had died from eating contaminated food; estimates had run from a few dozen to several thousand. A Michigan State University study found 347 cases met the criteria for "pet food-induced nephrotoxicity," based on data collected from veterinarians.
