Luncheon, fashion show scheduled for today

La Femme La Fashion, a luncheon and fashion show, including a holiday doggy fashion show, is today from noon to 3 p.m. at Sea Breeze Manor B&B, 5701 Shore Blvd., Gulfport. Caroling competition is in North Straub Park

The Great Figgy Pudding Street Corner Caroling Competition is 5:30 p.m. Saturday in North Straub Park, 398 Fifth Ave. NE, St. Petersburg. Teams of carolers raise pledges from family members, friends and co-workers, then compete in the Wild, Wacky or Traditional Choral categories. Costumes are encouraged. Pet event will help fund spay/neuter clinic

Join more than 30 cat and dog rescue groups to find homes for the holidays and raise money for a low-cost spay/neuter clinic at the Holiday Pet Festival, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at Azalea Recreation Park, 1600 72nd St. N, St. Petersburg. Science Center will offer lessons in winter

At the Science Center of Pinellas County, kids can learn about winter weather and enjoy real snow from the snow machine during the Holiday Science Event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, 7701 22nd Ave. N, St. Petersburg.

Those attending also can learn about and touch winter animals and see a planetarium show about winter skies. Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, who help make holiday ornaments and then share pizza and dessert.

The cost is $15 for nonmembers and $10 for members. The event is for ages 2 and above, and kids ages 2 to 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Those attending must RSVP by calling 384-0027.

Santa Claus will visit at Albert Whitted Airport

Eight waterfront homes to display holiday finest

Peek into eight historic waterfront homes decked out in their holiday finest at the Old Northeast Candlelight Tour of Homes from 3 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 in downtown St. Petersburg.
