Chamber presents 2008 legislative agenda Working with the state Chamber of Commerce, the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce is setting priorities for the upcoming legislative session. Top priorities include: -Constitutional amendment reform -Property tax relief -Taxpayer fairness -Commercial property insurance -Health insurance costs -Energy solutions -Work force education -Paycheck protection -Guns at work -Additional legal reforms Several chambers of commerce in Pinellas, including Largo, are planning their second annual "Tallahassee Mission for the 2008 Legislation Session" to seek the support of the Pinellas legislative delegation on these and other business-related issues. Young professionals, HYPE Pinellas is for you The chamber's new young professionals group, HYPE Pinellas, will be officially introduced during a special kickoff reception on Jan. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Acropolis Greek Taverna, 13575 58th St. N at the ICOT Center off Ulmerton Road. HYPE, the acronym for Helping Young Professionals Emerge, is open to business owners and professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. Its objective is to provide networking, professional development, community outreach and involvement opportunities to young professionals to prepare them to be future community leaders. Throughout the year, HYPE Pinellas will hold bimonthly after-hours networking gatherings as well as educational programs designed specifically for this age group.
