Published December 3, 2007
Tennessee accepted Sunday an invitation to play No. 18 Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl New Years Day at Raymond James Stadium. The No. 16 Volunteers will face the Badgers for only the second time in school history. Their only other meeting was in 1981. "We are thrilled to have the Eastern Division Champion Volunteers and Coach Fulmer as the SEC representative in our game," stated Jim McVay, Outback Bowl President /CEO. "Tennessee is an outstanding college football team and we feel our match-up with the Badgers and Volunteers will be one of the best bowl games this year. These two teams will go after each other." Tennessee will be making their third appearance in the Outback Bowl game (they are 1-1). The Volunteers won eight of their last nine regular season games to win the SEC East Division title and earn a berth in the SEC Conference Championship game which they led into the fourth quarter. The Outback Bowl kicks off at 11 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN. Tickets are $65 each and are available at Ticketmaster outlets throughout Florida, via phone at (813) 287-8844 and online at www.Ticketmaster.com.
