Thursday Musicale, a non-sectarian chorus of 50 women, will present a concert at 2 p.m. at Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. Featured performers are the Genesis Bell Ringers with Ron Turner and Expressions, the Dance Company. Free; donations accepted.

The Gilbert and Sullivan Players will perform Thespis, or the Gods Grown Old, with added music in the style of Sullivan by Constantine Grame, Friday through Sunday at the Tarpon Springs Performing Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. 'The Sights and Sounds of Christmas' will be presented at the Harry Bolback Performing Arts Center at Word of Life Conference Center off Hudson Avenue, Hudson. Centennial Opera Group continues its series "Viva Giuseppe, the Life and Operas of Verdi" at 12:30 p.m. at the Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday (1.2 miles east of U.S. 19). A video lecture will center on Il Trovatore and La Traviata. Free.

Main Street Holidays will be in downtown New Port Richey. Events include horse-drawn carriage rides ($5) and tractor-pulled hayride from 5 to 9 p.m. and a movie in the park at 9 p.m. Friday; arts and crafts village, kids' activities and river boat tours aboard "Miss Daisy" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Genesis School play An All-American Holiday Spectacular at 3 p.m., Holiday Card Lane around Orange Lake; photos with Santa from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, the 31st annual Holiday Parade at 7 p.m. and a concert in the park after the parade Saturday; breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 9 to 11 a.m., arts and crafts village from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. , and live music Sunday. The event also has a carnival midway from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Progress Energy Art Gallery will open an exhibit by Michelle Astuto Collins, "Welcome to My Imagination - Please Excuse the Mess" at a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. The reception coincides with "Holiday Fling" when several artists will sell their work at booths along Grand Boulevard in front of the gallery. Other exhibitors are Suzanna Holland, Klaus Lang, Shannon Thek and Carey Yaskovic. The exhibit continues through December. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
