At 6-6, 182 pounds, Lytle has the perfect frame for basketball and many thought he would follow his older brother, Charlie, onto the hardwood.
Hans had other plans.
He wanted to be Charles Barkley in shoulder pads.
"Football is in my blood," Hans said. "I just love it."
A two-year starter on the defensive line, Hans is part of an aggressive front four that makes quarterbacks uneasy. He has 35 tackles, five sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Friday night, he goes up against a powerful offensive line in Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.
"I'm looking forward to it," Hans said. "This is the biggest game of our lives."
Packers to be honored
Sunday, the Largo football team will be honored during the 11 a.m. youth service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist, 13255 118th St. N in Largo. The players and coaching staff were invited by legendary Largo educator James Feazell Sr.
Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Duron Carter is the son of former NFL star Cris Carter, who is a faculty member and coach at the school.
Cris Carter was a four-time All-Pro and played in eight straight Pro Bowls. In addition to coaching with the Raiders, he also is a host on HBO's Inside the NFL and an analyst for Yahoo Sports.
Duron is second on the team with 15 receptions for 239 yards and four touchdowns.

The last county team to play in a state football semifinal was Northeast in 1997. The Vikings traveled to play St. Thomas Aquinas and lost 14-0.
