Arts and Crafts Show to benefit New Hope Foundation: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St., Brooksville. Admission is $3; ages 12 and younger admitted free. 442-0616.
AT&T Pioneers to host Pearl Harbor memorial service: 1 p.m., Chocachatti Elementary School, 4135 California St., Brooksville. The memorial will honor the 16 servicemen from Hernando County who gave their lives during World War II. The speaker will be Hernando County Superintendent of Schools Wayne Alexander. Also present will be the chaplain from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209 and color guards from various veteran organizations. Music and taps will be played by Michelle DiLuigio, assistant director of the Hernando Symphony Orchestra. Students from Chocachatti will place a flag at each of the 16 trees that were planted in honor of the servicemen. Bob, 686-6962.

Library to show film Pearl Harbor: 2 p.m., Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. This 2001 film follows the story of two best friends, Rafe and Danny, as they go off to join World War II and fall in love with the same woman. The movie is rated PG-13 and stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Kate Beckinsale, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Jon Voight. Light refreshments will be served. Free. 540-6391.
Pearl Harbor Day ceremony: 11:30 a.m., Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, 101 E Fort Dade Ave., Brooksville. The ceremony is arranged by Hernando-Pasco Hospice and will feature a presentation with the color guard from VFW Post 10209. Immediately following will be a ceremony for Hospice's Tree of Life. Garden Club to host annual Poinsettia Planting at the Spring Hill Waterfall: 9 a.m. to noon, at the waterfall entrance, Spring Hill Drive at Commercial Way, Spring Hill. Residents are invited to bring poinsettias, sign a memory book and have garden club members plant the poinsettias around the waterfall. The event began 19 years ago when former Spring Hill Garden Club president Don Kubiak planted poinsettias in memory of his parents. Call 683-9933.
