Anniversaries

The Nahons

Jules and Beverly Nahon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner Sept. 15, 2007, hosted by their children at the St. Petersburg Women's Club and a trip to Italy. They were married Sept. 14, 1957, in Niskayuna, N.Y., and came here in 1959 from Schenectady.

Mrs. Nahon retired in 2000 as a medical office manager at All Children's Hospital. Mr. Nahon was a master tailor for Maas Brothers, Jordan Marsh and Burdines for more than 32 years. He is an Army veteran of the Korean War.

They have three children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Thomases

Ernie and Bertha Thomas celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family. They were married at Tarpon Springs Methodist Church in 1942 and moved to St. Petersburg in 1943.

Mr. Thomas retired from GTE after 37 years and is a Navy veteran of World War II. They were avid bowlers and trapshooters, and won many state and national awards for shooting. They are members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, the Skyway Gun Club and Allendale United Methodist Church. They have one son.
