Boat parades

Treasure Island: Christmas Boat Parade and Celebration - Today. The celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club, 400 Treasure Island Causeway, and will include holiday music, hot dogs, chowder, hot cider, cake and a visit from Santa. The parade leaves the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club basin at 6:20 p.m., passes through the Treasure Island toll bridge at 7 p.m. and finishes at John's Pass between 8 and 8:30 p.m. The parade includes Paradise, Palms and Capri islands. Bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Christmas Toy Shop Project to receive a family pass to attend the holiday party and to get a good view of the parade. The rain date is Monday. Indian Rocks Beach: Lighted Boat Parade - Saturday. Begins at 7 p.m. from the Holiday Inn Harbourside, 401 Second St., heads north under the Indian Rocks Bridge and through the fingers of Indian Rocks and finishes south of the Belleair Causeway, near Harbor Drive and 27th Avenue. For information, call 595-6889.

Madeira Beach: Lighted Boat Parade - Saturday. Begins at 7 p.m. at John's Pass, meanders through the Madeira Beach waterways, passes by the Madeira Beach Marina and under the John Stuart bridge to Causeway Park and the Madeira Beach City Hall and ends at the northern border of Madeira Beach. Indian Shores and Redington beaches: Christmas Boat Parade - Dec. 16. Begins at 5:45 p.m. from the north side of Tom Stuart Causeway and heads north through the Intracoastal Waterway, arriving at the Pub restaurant in Indian Shores about 9 p.m. Public viewing areas are DelBello Park, 17925 Gulf Blvd.; the Pinellas County Boat Launch at Park Boulevard; and the Estelle Harper Park behind Indian Shores Town Hall, 19305 Gulf Blvd., where there will be holiday music and refreshments at 7:30 p.m. For information, call Redington Shores at 397-5538; Redington Beach at 391-3875; North Redington Beach at 391-4848; or Indian Shores at 595-4020.

Lake Tarpon's lighted boat parade is Saturday, December 15th beginning at 5:30 PM at the Tarpon Turtle. Boat judging is 6:30 at the Tarpon Turtle, a complete tour of the lake begins from the Turtle at 7:30.
