Last month eight finalists from around the country competed in the 2008 Miss Polish American beauty pageant in Clearwater. Jessica Myslikowski, 20, of St. Petersburg, a University of Florida student and Gibbs High School graduate, took the crown. A first-timer, Myslikowski entered the pageant for kicks after discovering it on the Internet. "I still look at the pictures and the crown and I can't believe that's me," she said. "It was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had." Her prize included a vacation to Mexico and a scholarship to a local modeling school. In addition Myslikowski will be flown to Poland as a guest of honor for the 2008 Miss Poland competition.
