A holiday event, old school style
For a holiday celebration without the modern hype, check out the Country Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Pioneer Florida Museum. Volunteers will be on hand to make the museum's signature treat - sugar cane syrup, available for $5 a pint, $9 a quart - plus there will be live music, arts and crafts and visits with Santa Claus. There is no admission fee, but please bring nonperishable food, new clothing or a new toy for a Dade City charity. The museum is at 15602 Pioneer Museum Road, off U.S. 301 north of Dade City. Call (352) 567-0262 or visit http://www.pioneerfloridamuseum.org.
