Program offers legal help to people over 60

Helping the Elderly with Legal Problems (H.E.L.P.) offers legal assistance to people 60 and older who are residents of Pasco County. Half-hour appointments begin at 1 p.m. Thursday and Dec. 27 at CARES Claude Pepper Senior Center, 6640 Van Buren St., New Port Richey; call (727) 844-3077 for an appointment. Assistance is also available starting at 1 p.m. Dec. 18 at CARES, Phil Mishkin Center, 7505 Rottingham Road, New Port Richey. Call (727) 862-9291 for appointment.
Warm up to Frosty's Fantastic Fun Camp
The Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department and Hudgins Law Firm will present Frosty's Fantastic Fun Camp on Jan. 2-4 at James Irvin Civic Center, 38122 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Dade City. This program is designed for elementary and middle school children. Participants will enjoy outdoor sports, indoor games, arts and crafts, field trips and other activities. Space is limited. Winter Wonderland features choirs, crafts
Zephyrhills Wesleyan Church will host a Winter Wonderland at the church, at C Avenue and 20th Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Local groups will provide music throughout the day, including choirs from Trinity United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church and Zephyrhills Wesleyan Church, and the Lightning Youth Band from Crystal Springs Worship Center. Local crafters will provide an opportunity to pick up last-minute Christmas gifts, and door prizes will be given away every hour. There will also be a gingerbread house contest (with cash prizes), bake sale, "make and take" ornament booth, face painting, gift wrapping, and a special Advent Walk through a magical winter forest. Bring tax questions for property appraiser
Pasco Property Appraiser Mike Wells will discuss property values, homestead exemptions, Save Our Homes and proposed legislation that will affect property owners during two events this week. Both meetings will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The first meeting will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 9426 Little Road in New Port Richey. The second is at 8 p.m. Thursday at Shadow Ridge Homeowners Association on Shadow Ridge Boulevard in Hudson.
See 'Nativity Story' movie Christmas Eve
The Nativity Story, the major motion picture released last Christmas by New Line Cinema, will be presented at Zephyrhills Wesleyan Church (C Avenue at 20th Street) on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. The movie chronicles the journey of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus. Bring a dish to share at NARFE party
Chapter 390 of the National Active or Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, 6040 Eighth St., Zephyrhills.
