Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. The winter exhibit, which runs through Feb. 12, features displays by the Hernando Quilters, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and a new selection of poetry by Just Poets members; paintings by artists Tony Caparello, Glenna Cofran, Shirley Jacobson, Barbara Kerr, Alberto Juliano, Jessica Miller, David C. Roland and LeAnn Steen. On loan is a painting by Mexican-American muralist Oscar Romaro, courtesy of Telma Ott. Wood artisan Ray Pope has a display of his furniture creations. Florida in World War II traveling exhibit: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St., Brooksville. The exhibit, made available by the Museum of Florida History, presents an overview of the war years in Florida history. Topics include the home front, military training in Florida, the German U-boat threat and Floridians in military service. The exhibit will be on display through January.
