On Saturday, Santa will travel by boat

HERNANDO BEACH
The Hernando Beach Yacht Club will have its 30th annual Christmas Boat Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday. The entry fee is a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to Helping Hands United. The parade will begin at the yacht club, 4163 Shoal Line Blvd., and continue to the main canals and back. There will be food available for purchase. BROOKSVILLE
Springwood traffic is the topic of talk
The Hernando County Engineering Department will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Commission Chambers at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St. The meeting is to discuss traffic in the Springwood community along Spring Park Way, between Spring Hill Drive and Powell Road. The issues are a consideration in the commercial development proposed for the south side of Spring Hill Drive, south of Springwood Estates. For information, call 754-4062.
SPRING HILL/BROOKSVILLE
Appraiser's office is closed today
The Hernando County Property Appraiser's Office will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today for training purposes. The offices are at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave., and at the Westside Government Center, 7509 and 7525 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill.

Correction
A federal Department of Housing and Urban Development report said the Brooksville Housing Authority had paid a tree service $5,900 to remove one small tree. An incorrect amount was reported in a Hernando Times story on Dec. 5.
