Today's Letters: Largo Packers' great seasonshould make all of us proud

Congratulations to the Largo Packers on their hard-fought season. Coach Rick Rodriguez, his staff and players displayed great tenacity and class and fought hard for every yard they gained all year long.

Although they came up on the other side of the score, their efforts this year raised the bar for future teams.

Friday's game displayed what a great city we live in. The crowd, the excitement and the backing for the Packers showed a lot of what we stand for.

The stadium got a much-deserved makeover and the Largo Police Department made everything run smoothly. The team played their hearts out.

Thanks to the St. Petersburg Times for its coverage of the team. It is a shame that they came up on the short end. Thank you, Largo Packers, for a job well done!

Holiday parade and stroll story, Nov. 28

No matter what you call it, it's still Christmas, not 'holidays'

Kudos to the Largo Times and staff writer Rita Farlow for trying to be politically correct and failing. The tree pictured on Page 3 and the parade mentioned in the article are, were and always will be a Christmas tree and a Christmas parade. The "holidays" referred to in the article are the Christmas holidays, building up to the celebration of the birthday of the son of God, Jesus Christ.
