The Plant girls basketball team stayed perfect behind a strong defensive effort and balanced scoring Thursday night against Robinson.
Three players scored in double figures en route to a 58-18 win.
Freshman guard Ganice Macho and senior forward Kaitlyn Ostroski had 12 points each for Plant (11-0), which got 11 points from sophomore guard Michelle Taylor.
Robinson (0-12) was held to eight field goals.
The Panthers led 26-5 after one quarter and never looked back.
"It's a step in the right direction," Plant coach Carrie Mahon said. "We had been playing with a lack of focus and almost a lack of effort in some games. Tonight, I can attest to the fact we left what we had on the floor."
- Hillsborough 75, Leto 39
Behind a torrid 31-point second quarter, the Terriers cruised to a comfortable win and improved to 10-3. Shalisia Hall led Hillsborough with 20 points. Jasmine Hammond added 15.
In all, nine Terriers scored. Five finished with eight or more points.
Hillsborough hit eight 3-pointers.
- Brandon 48, Wharton 40
At Brandon, the Eagles improved to 2-9 behind the 18-point effort of junior forward Yessenia Wesley. Senior guard/forward Erica Ealy added 12 points.
Wharton is 1-12.
Brandon led 24-15 at the half and 38-19 after three quarters.
"For three quarters, we played really strong team ball," Brandon coach James Smith said. "We're continuing to make progress game by game. We're playing well."
BOYS SOCCER
- Cambridge 4, Bradenton Christian 0
The host Lancers improved to 9-2 behind two goals from senior forward Kyle Sims, who had two assists.
Cambridge's other goals came from senior midfielder Sean Houseman and freshman forward Adam Stemm. Senior keeper Josh Lockwood had five saves.
Bradenton Christian is 2-7-2.
"It's definitely a good effort," Lancers coach Kevin Hickinbotham said. "This is a conference game for us. Bradenton is always a tough team. They're a little bit younger this year, but they played well."
