The winter exhibit, which runs through Feb. 12, features displays by the Hernando Quilters, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and a new selection of poetry by Just Poets members; paintings by artists Tony Caparello, Glenna Cofran, Shirley Jacobson, Barbara Kerr, Alberto Juliano, Jessica Miller, David C. Angels on High holiday celebration: 6:30 to 9 p.m., Lake House, 1202 Kenlake Ave. This is a free family event features the Angel Path, which includes lights, decorations and many angels hanging from the trees. There will be live entertainment at the new Palmwood Pavilion and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Food and refreshments are available. Presented by the Spring Hill Community Association. 666-4746.
Young Marines to host pancake breakfast and pictures with Santa: 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Marine Corps League Detachment 708, 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, west of Brooksville. There will be face painting, cookie decorating, food, a visit with Santa and other activities. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras. Christmas Boat Parade: 6 p.m., Hernando Beach Yacht Club, 4163 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach. The parade will begin at the yacht club and continue through the main canals and back. Library to host showing of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and a visit with Santa: 10 a.m., East Hernando Brach Library, 6457 Windmere Drive, Ridge Manor West. There will be more than 50 vendors selling a variety of items, such as produce, shrubbery, jewelry, personalized license plates, Christmas crafts, homemade soaps, handbags, antiques and collectibles. Oplatek traditional Polish Christmas party: VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. A Polish dinner will be served at 3:30 p.m. and will include a herring appetizer, pierogi, kielbasa and sauerkraut, fresh rye bread, complimentary wine, and poppy seed cake for dessert. The Bee-Sharps will entertain with Polish and American dance music from 5 to 8 p.m. A cash bar will be available. There will be a communal tree decoration, the singing of Polish and American Christmas carols, a visit by St. Nick and the traditional sharing of the Oplatek. Children are welcome at this event. Tickets are $15 for adults and youths; free for 11 and younger (but their complimentary tickets must be requested in advance when purchasing adult tickets).
