Square dance: Learn to dance, meet new people and get exercise without knowing it with the Temple Twirlers Square Dance Club from 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. Saturdays at 19012 First St. SW in Lutz. The first night is free. The cost is $4.
Ballet: Registration for ballet class for ages 3 to adult is open at the Center for the Arts Ballet School at Scottish Rite Center, 5500 Memorial Highway. There are openings for the 10 to teen Pointe Class. Call 813 887-1979.

Running: The Westchase TriGalswill participate in the Iron Distance Challenge and so can you. The event is a monthlong, self-paced triathlon starting Jan. 1. Participants will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles. Miles are logged and submitted by e-mail. Funds raised by the TriGals support the Westchase Community Foundation, which helps sick children and their families who live in Westchase. Cost is $25 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. Fun run: Help support the "Wishes for Wharton" Foundation by entering the Wharton High School Wildcats 5K run/walk and 1 mile fun run. The event will be at 7 a.m. Feb. 16 at Live Oak Preserve, 20150 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Cost for the 5K is $10 for students and $20 day of race, fun run cost is $5.
