School board workshop to discuss school plan

The Pinellas County School Board has scheduled a workshop Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. and special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on the proposed student assignment plan in the conference hall of the administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW. Attendees may register to address items on the special meeting's agenda. Public input is not permitted at the workshop. Fundraiser for art group

The Dunedin Fine Art Center is sponsoring an evening of music, refreshments and an auction starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to raise funds for the 15 artists of the Imago Art Group who lost their work when their studio burned Dec. 9. Auction items from artists and businesses should be brought to the art center by 5 p.m. Tuesday. Check donations can be made payable to PAVA and mailed to PAVA, P.O. Box 2665, Dunedin, FL 34697. Check out Brooker critters at night

Do something different with your family this week. Take a night hike in the Brooker Creek Preserve from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Staff at the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road, will lead kids and adults in search of the unusual sounds, glowing eyes and strange smells of creatures of the night.
