Senior meals

Pasco County operates nine congregate dining sites that offer a nutritious meal and various program activities. There is no charge for these meals, but donations are requested. Additionally, Pasco County delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program meal is offered for a donation only. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $5 fee per meal. All meals include low-fat milk. Call to register. For information on any of these meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Today: Sliced turkey with turkey gravy, whipped sweet potatoes, garden peas, whole wheat bread with margarine, mixed fruit cup.

Tuesday: Broccoli, rice and cheese casserole, carrot cuts, green beans, whole grain bread with margarine, diced peaches.

Wednesday: French onion soup, BBQ chicken quarter, mashed potatoes, corn with diced tomatoes, whole grain bread with margarine, banana.

Thursday: Beef Stroganoff casserole, broccoli, three bean medley, whole wheat bread with margarine, diced pineapple.

Friday Christmas Celebration: Sliced ham with fruit sauce, green beans with mushrooms and diced red peppers, whipped sweet potatoes, whole grain dinner roll with margarine, special holiday dessert.

NOTICE: There will be no meal sites or home deliveries on Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31, Jan. 1.
