WIMAUMA - Three people suffered injuries after a pickup carrying six people overturned on an embankment. The accident happened on State Road 674 and Grange Hall Loop just after 3 p.m. Monday. Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Larry Coggins said the 1998 Ford pickup was eastbound on State Road 674 when a westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and the Ford driver tried to avoid a crash by steering left. The Ford hit a pole and overturned. The other vehicle continued westbound without crashing. Coggins said of the six people in the Ford, three escaped injury. Hillsborough Fire Rescue Capt. Bruce Delk said responders freed three who were pinned in the vehicle. One was transported by ambulance and two by helicopter. The victims' names and conditions were not available from FHP or hospital officials late Monday. Times staff
