The handwriting on the back of this photo reads as follows: "Well and sweep, Capt. Calkins at right, F.W. Dunklee at left, at 'Bachelor's Rest' at mouth of the Pithlachascootee River, Old Port Richey, Fla. (west coast) on Gulf of Mexico. Feby. 1915." Nothing else is known about this picture, but the man on the left could be Frank W. Dunklee, who in the 1920 census is a salesman in bank securities in Middlesex, Mass. Capt. Calkins is believed to be a local resident because he is apparently in another local picture. Perhaps Bachelor's Rest was a vacation getaway that he operated. (Note that the name of the river is spelled with "oo," not uncommon at that time.) - Jeff Miller, West Pasco Historical Society
