Land O'Lakes wrestling will host the Ed Goodpastor Invitational today and Saturday. The teams attending are Berkeley Prep, Central, Citrus, Dunnellon, Dunedin, Eastside, Hernando, Lemon Bay, Leto, Land O'Lakes, Matanzas, Mitchell, Miami Springs, Nature Coast, Pasco, Plantation, River Ridge, South Lake, Wesley Chapel, Wiregrass and Winter Park.
Land O'Lakes coach Brent Colemansaid Lemon Bay brings a tough team, as does Miami Springs.
Pasco, which finished second to Miramar at the Land O'Lakes Duals on Dec. 1, will arguably be the toughest Pasco County team, bringing seniors Reyes Perez (189) and Eric Stroud (215). Pasco also has an ace up its sleeve with sophomore Vrdal Jimenez in the 103 weight class.
"He should make some noise at this tournament - it's his first one and he was a state qualifier as a freshman last year," Coleman said. "There's just not many 103s, and he's definitely one of the better ones I've seen."
