BROOKSVILLE- A 27-year-old Brooksville man was arrested Thursday on drug charges for the second time in three weeks. Antiquan Byrd faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and violation of probation. Detectives were serving a search warrant at 22303 Whitman Road on Thursday morning when they found Byrd sprawled on the floor in the living room of the home. A small black tote bag was also found within reach of Byrd, according to a report from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. In the bag were two bags of crack cocaine, weighing a total of about 8.3 grams, and 16 bags of marijuana with a combined weight of about 57.3 grams, according to the report. After being read his Miranda rights, Byrd told detectives the drugs belonged to him. He was taken to the county jail, where his bail was set at $15,000. On Dec. 6, Byrd was also arrested in Brooksville on charges of trafficking crack cocaine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
