Anniversaries

The Burnettes

Walter and June Burnette celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends in Elmhurst, Ill. They were married Aug. 16, 1947, at Ascension Catholic Church, Oak Park, Ill. They moved to Boca Raton in 1971 and to Tierra Verde in 2000.

She was a legal secretary and a homemaker. He retired as a marketing manager after 42 years with Motorola. He is a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

They are members of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and have two sons, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Caseys

Bill and Barbara Casey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Friends Lake Inn in the Adirondacks. They were married Sept. 21, 1957, at St. Brigid's Church, Westbury, N.Y., and came here in 2004 from Manhattan.

She was a media librarian for CBS News for 24 years. He was an electrical contractor and taught electronics at a technical school. He served in the Army as a ski trooper in 1955 and 1956.

They are members of the Tides Golf Club and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and have two children and two grandchildren.

The Hehemanns

William and Helen Hehemann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 7, 2007, with a dinner with family and friends at Island Way Grill in Clearwater Beach and a trip to Disney World. They were married Dec. 7, 1957, at Presbyterian Manse, Seminole. He here in 1948 from Cincinnati. She came here in 1956 from Olean, N.Y.

They both retired from General Electric, she after 32 years in the lab and he after 31 years in the machine shop. He served in the Army during the Korean War and in the Merchant Marines during World War II. They are members of Lake Seminole Presbyterian Church, SPCA Tampa Bay and Mended Hearts Chapter 25. They have a daughter.

The Stahleys

John and Claire Stahley celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 14, 2007, at a party with family and friends. They were married Sept. 14, 1947, at College Hill Presbyterian Church, Easton, Pa., and came here in 1970.

She was a registered nurse at Bayfront Medical Center. He retired as a district sales manager from Quasar and worked in the pro shop at Mangrove Bay Golf Course. During World War II, he served with the 94th MGT Battalion under Gen. Patton and she served in the Cadet Nurse Corps.

They have been members of Pasadena Presbyterian Church for 36 years and enjoy playing golf and making scrapbooks. They have four children, nine grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and four great-grandchildren.
