Belleview Biltmore's 10-man team and Randy Mosley, the director of golf at the host Vinoy Resort, were the big winners in Wednesday's Pinellas Men's Interclub monthly match. Belleview Biltmore, led by Bruce McKinley and Doug McArthur, won the 12-team match to vault into first place in the 2007-08 standings after four matches. Mosley crafted 3-under 69 on his home course to capture pro honors. He posted five birdies offset by two bogeys, one of which was the result of an out-of-bounds shot on the par-5 ninth. "Other than that one shot, I played well," Mosley said. "I drove the ball very well and hit 17 greens in regulation. But more important, we (Vinoy players) had fun. I'd rather finish last just to play with our wonderful members." Innisbrook's Jason Villangrana and the Bayou's Chris Ettner tied for second at 71. Villangrana factored into the two-man team scoring, shooting a better-ball score of plus 14 with amateur Dave Garringer. Mark Wilkins and Randy Wehling of Countryside (plus-10) finished second. ST. NICK OPEN: At Mangrove Bay and the adjacent par-3 Cypress Links course, Dave Girouex and Andy Arnold were the winners, shooting 16-under 83 among a field of 180. The other flight winners: Doug Manning and Dave Callahan, 8-under 91; Ben and Steve Stortenbecker, 10-under 89;Greg Pipkin and Doug Johnson, 4-under 95; Rich Clifton and Mike Foss, 2-under 97; and Ralph Betz and Ryan Nachit, 4-under 95. The fundraiser last week provided complete Christmas gifts for two needy families. CGA: Ken Palladino and Jeff Neugebauer of Odessa were Monday's better-ball winners at East Lake Woodlands, shooting 4-under 68. Jim Shepherd and Bobby Kilgore tied (71) with Bill O'Hara and Bill Johnson in the senior division. And net honors (61) went to Rob Wheeler and Walt Durrett. FLORIDA STATE GA: The association's "Game" series last week at Bardmoor produced a winner in Jason Liu of St. Petersburg. In a quota format, Liu won with a score of plus-5. Bill O'Donnell of Orlando finished second at plus-3, followed by Walt Hardenstine of St. Petersburg at plus-1. The series resumes Jan. 25 at Bloomingdale. For details, visit www.fsga.org/thegame. FLORIDA JUNIOR TOUR: Dunedin's Justin Foster was the top Pinellas finisher at last weekend's event at MetroWest in Orlando, shooting 77-73 for 6-over 150. That put the Dunedin High senior in fourth place in a strong field of 40 players. Jack Twomey of Tampa posted 146 (70-76) for his first FJT win. "My putter was really working for me," said Twomey, referring to many one-putt saves. "On Sunday, it was really windy out there, and that required a lot more concentration." Other Pinellas finishers included Tyler Wilkins of Clearwater, tied for 15th after shooting 73-81-154; Mike Baskovich, Clearwater, tied for 29th with 75-80-155; Chad Fleming, Seminole, 77-82-159; and Nick Buccini, Tarpon Springs, 82-81-163. Carlie Yadlockzky, 16, of Casselberry won the girls 16-18 division with 6-under 66 and 75 for 141 to earn a six-stroke win over Stephanie Kim of Bayside, N.Y. INNISBROOK CHRISTMAS CLASSIC: Many of the top area juniors are playing in this weekend's 54-hole tournament in Palm Harbor. Last year, the top three girls were Meghan Chapman of Seminole, the Times' player of the year in 2006 and '07, Evan Jensen of Belleair and Andrea Messer of Largo. LPGA STATS: Seminole's Brittany Lincicome finished third in driving distance, averaging 261 yards. In driving accuracy, she ranked 89th. Her scoring average of 72.14 ranked 24th. NATIONWIDE TOUR: Kyle McCarthy of Gulfport, who earned conditional status on the tour by advancing to the PGA Tour Q-School finals last year, made the cut in three of 17 events with a best finish of second.
