Blink and suddenly it's Wednesday, the day after Christmas. All the presents have been opened, the eggnog consumed. Now it's time for you to get back to work. But, what to do with the kids, who are out of school until after the New Year? Here's an option: Check out the winter camp offerings for grades K through 5 at the city's Recreation, Parks and Arts Department. Space is limited and each camper must have a recreation card and a child ID form on file. Children also need to bring a lunch and a snack. -Artsy Week Holiday Camp. Kids will use a variety of artistic media to make crafts they can take home. The camp runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave., and Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Road. Cost is $17.50 a day for Largo residents and $22 a day for nonresidents, $52 a week for residents and $65 a week for nonresidents. -The next week is Pirate Invasion Week Holiday Camp. Kids will make pirate ships and treasure maps before they "invade" Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach for a day of beach fun on Jan. 4. This camp runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, 3 and 4 (no camp on Jan. 1) at the same two rec centers. Cost is $16.50 a day for residents and $21 a day for nonresidents, $66 a week for residents and $82.50 a week for nonresidents. For information, call the Rec Department at 518-3016 (Highland) or 518-3125 (Southwest). Rita Farlow, Times staff writer
