Army Lieutenant 1st Class Kevin Blair was promoted to his present rank on Nov. 27.

He has been serving as platoon leader for the past year with the 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division and will now be serving as executive officer of the same unit out of Fort Hood, Texas.

Blair recently completed training at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, Calif., and is scheduled to deploy to Iraq in mid to late spring.

He is the son of Kevin and Betty Blair of Palm Harbor.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Philip M. Lanehart has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

During six weeks of training, Lanehart studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and courtesies, performed drill and ceremony marches and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.

He is the son of Sandra Dauria of Clearwater and is a 2007 graduate of Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary.
