Christmas eve, Christmas day closings

Government closings

All federal, state, county and city offices, except police and fire departments, will be closed today and Tuesday. Federal and state courts will be closed today and Tuesday.

Buses and streetcars

HARTLINE and HARTplus will operate on a Saturday schedule today and will be closed Tuesday. The TECO Line Streetcar System will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and will be closed Tuesday.

Shopping malls

The following malls will be open Today: International Plaza, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; WestShore Plaza, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; University Mall, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Westfield Citrus Park, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Westfield Brandon, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. All malls will be closed Tuesday.

Utilities

Verizon Customer Service, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Plus stores will be open today and closed Tuesday.

Tampa Electric and People's Gas offices will be closed today and Tuesday.

Garbage collection

City of Tampa commercial, residential and recycling will not pick up Tuesday. Tuesday residential routes will be served Wednesday. The McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scalehouse and South Manhattan Brush site will be closed today and Tuesday.

Temple Terrace Public Works Department Offices will be closed today and Tuesday and there will be no residential, garbage or curbside recycling. There will be no commercial garbage collection today and Tuesday.

The Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management Department will be closed today and Tuesday. There will be residential garbage and curbside recycling pickup today but not Tuesday.

Schools

All Hillsborough County public schools will be closed until Jan. 8.

Hillsborough Community College, University of Tampa and University of South Florida are also on winter break.

Post office, mail delivery

All post offices will close early today and will be closed Tuesday. For hours, call your local office. There will be mail delivery today but not Tuesday.

Libraries

All public libraries will be closed today except the Temple Terrace Library, which is open until 5 p.m. All libraries will be closed Tuesday.

Banks

All banks will be open today and closed Tuesday.

Attractions, museums

The Tampa Museum of Art will be closed today and Tuesday.

The Florida Aquarium will be open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and closed Tuesday.

Busch Gardens will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Lowry Park Zoo will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and closed Tuesday.

Recreation

Ben T. Davis Beach and Picnic Island Beach will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Tuesday

The Sandra W. Freedman Tennis Complex and HCC Tennis Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and closed Tuesday.

All city pools, community centers and art studios will be closed today and Tuesday.

Hillsborough County Recreation Department: All recreation centers and playgrounds will be closed today and Tuesday.

Regional parks: All parks will close at 3 p.m. today except E.G. Simmons, Eureka Springs and Lake Rogers, which will be closed all day. All parks will be closed Tuesday except Morris Bridge, Trout Creek and Flatwoods.
