The tradition continues on Friday evening, as the St. Petersburg Debutante Club holds its traditional black-tie Presentation Ball and reception in the Coliseum.

The 1937 dance evolved into the debutante tradition, which has become an annual event with a few exceptions: during World War II, 1960 and 1994.
